Commissioning process starts from initial interview between the Client and studio's team. General expectations are discussed, architectural plans reviewed and a time line is defined. It is recommended to involve Studio's team on early stage of the project development such as planning or structural framing. Lighting, mouldings and other important details concerning opening preparation are discussed at this stage
Design Development and Discussion
All projects are designed using AutoCAD in a scale 1 to 1. All sketches are close representation of the finished peace. Few design variants of the glass dome are offered to the Client with the possibility of a couple revisions of selected design. The artist reserves the right to not copy the existing projects, improvise and adjust the design according to the Client’s grounds. Decorative glass dome is a complex system made of steel, glass and lead. Technical and artistic aspects are integrated to build a unique site specific piece of art.

Unique combinations of art glass are used to completely hide an unpleasant for a viewer structural elements such as beams, supporting columns, light fixtures, access doors from the attic and etc. Not only technical elements are considered but also artistic value of the dome may significantly be increased with the right selection of glass.

All frames are fabricated in a studio with a high level of accuracy and attention to details.

Templates and 3d molds
are fabricated using a water jet precise cutting technology which allows to build perfect spherical surfaces for glass assembling

After design is approved by the Client materials are ordered, shop drawings are developed, water jet machine programmed to cut glass parts. Average dome is made of 3 000 - 10 000 glass peaces and 9 000 - 30 000 leaded came parts. CNC cutting allows to keep consistency and high quality of all parts which intensify the glass dome appearance after installation. Water jet technology also helps to cut metal, glass and stone parts that are not possible to cut by hand

Artistic Line Studio has developed a unique technique of leaded glass panels reinforcement by steel re - bars that prevent panels from sagging and prolong glass dome lifetime. These bars are welded to the top of the glass panels and are not visible from below
Installation and delivery by Artistic Line Studio
After full completion of glass dome at the studio, large frame is cut in pieces for delivery, packed and reassembled using TIG welding technology at the construction site. Dome installation can be divided into 2 sessions that will allow to complete mouldings, lighting and painting after frame installation. Glass panels can be installed at the end of the construction process and should be protected by plastic cover until full completion of the construction.

At the end of production frame and glass panels are packed and crated. The freight company ships the crates to the Client's location. The skylight may be installed by local subcontractor or by Artistic Line Studio's team on the Client's demand
